Comments from actor who landed a role on the series Sanctuary - April 8, 2009
"...last week Stuart Aikens auditioned me for a role in "Sanctuary", a TV Series for the SciFi network, and wrote on the sides: "Brenda - please lose the British accent for this one." So I called Andy, and had an hour with him.
Andy has made a science of his passion. He is patient and kind and professional and straightforward. Encouraging, and every consonant, every vowel, every dipthong is carefully repeated over and over again until you get it right. He pays attention to cadences and clumps. He uses a camera so that one can see the shaping of the lips, the positioning of the tongue, and then gives you a CD or DVD. The American "R" I had struggled with for 23 years was suddenly there. And I came home with the tools to do the job in the audition.
And I got the part. I truly believe, because of Andy's help.
Thank you, Andy. Thank you so very much" Brenda McDonald
Comments from Actors taking the American Accent Class (Marc Baur) - March 3, 2007
"I've found this class to be extremely effective in curbing my Canadian accent. I feel like I am now
armed and ready for my next American project audition. Thank you, Andy." Derek Anderson
"Andy, Thanks for a great class. I know what it sounds like to pause and take some time on my words
now" Alison Corrall
"American accent with Andy Krieger is a very technical, challenging, yet easy approach for changing
the way we talk. Andy is great with pace and keeping us all motivated with his constructive criticism. Julian Paul
"It's not enough to just change your words here and there. Andy helps you realize that Americans have
a whole different way of phrasing sentences and ideas. If you donft understand that you will still
sound Canadian to producers and casting." Shannon Powell
"I am an American and I absolutely no idea what it meant to 'speak with an American accent' until I
took Andy's class. His class is a great opportunity for both Canadians and Americans to differentiate
between the accents and to learn how to control one's intonation." Nelson Kyle
"It was certainly my pleasure to attend your class. I was thrilled with everything that you taught us. I thought your class was amazing when I took it 5 years ago, but you have certainly refined the process and made it that much more effective since then. I definitely have more confidence in what I can do now."
Colin Corrigan (Vancouver actor)
"Very interesting, I feel I've had a chance to see the tip of the iceberg. Wow, I never knew this or I
would have done this a long time before this!" Norah Warren
"Great seminar – eye opening. Loved the format: ie. Class participation." Jay Danziger
